Decree on Educational Attendance and Regulation

The following shall be the regulations pertaining to schooling:

[list=1][*]Educational matters will be handled by the People's Commissariat for Education.
[*]The Committee on Primary Education and the Committee on Secondary Education will deal with educational grades Pre-Kindergarten to 5 and 6 to 12 respectively.
[*]The Committee on Higher Education will handle all post-secondary education.
[*]Every individual who is under the age of 18 shall be required to attend school.
[*]Education must happen at a state approved school, home schooling is not permitted under any circumstance.
[*]The school year will last from the third Monday in July through the last Friday in May. School will be in session Monday through Saturday from 0800 to 1500. Days off will be determined by the People's Commissariat for Education.
[*]Children, upon reaching the age of 5, will be required to begin attending school in the subsequent school year. If a child is to turn 5 between the third Monday in July to the 31st of December of the next school year they will be required to begin attending school in that school year.
[*]Parents who fail to enroll their children at the proper time may have their children taken into state custody. Parents who fail to ensure that their children regularly attend school may have their children taken into state custody.[/list]
